Organise assets into folders

Folders keep a collection tidy as it grows: one campaign here, a channel there, a batch of exports over there. Each folder also sets the readable ID your images carry, so you and your client always know which one you mean.

Make a folder

A collection project opens on its Assets tab. To start a folder, click "New folder" at the top right. To nest one inside another, open a folder and choose "Add subfolder". Both open the same short dialog.

  • Folder name. What the group is, for example a campaign, a channel or a batch of exports.
  • Inside. Pick a parent folder to nest this one inside, or choose "Top level" to keep it at the top.
  • ID prefix. A short code that leads every asset ID in the folder, like LAUNCH.

Folders nest to any depth, so you can go from campaign to channel to batch without running out of room.

How the ID prefix sets your asset IDs

Every image gets a short, stable, readable ID from its folder's prefix plus a number, like LAUNCH-01, LAUNCH-02. That ID is how you and your client point at the same image without describing it.

  • Numbering is per folder. Each folder counts up on its own, so a LAUNCH folder gives LAUNCH-01, LAUNCH-02, and so on.
  • The prefix follows the folder. Set it once on the folder and every image inside picks it up.
  • You can edit the number. Change an image's number inline if you want a specific order. The prefix stays tied to the folder.
Tip

Pick short, memorable prefixes like LAUNCH or Q4 before you add images, so your IDs read cleanly from the very first one.

Move images into folders

Filing is quick, and you can always change your mind.

  • Drag a card. Drop any image card onto a folder to move it there.
  • Use the menu. Open a card's menu and choose "Move to folder" to pick a destination.
  • Move several at once. Turn on select mode, choose the images you want, then move them together.

Anything you have not filed yet lives in "Unfiled", a locked catch-all that always sits last so nothing goes missing. Moves, status changes and deletes each show an Undo button for a few seconds if you need to step back.

Find images fast

Two views and a search box keep a large collection easy to scan.

  • By folder. The default view, grouping images the way you filed them.
  • By status. Switch to group by where each image stands: Draft, Awaiting, Approved or Changes.
  • Search by name or ID. Type part of a name, or an ID like LAUNCH-01, to jump straight to the image you want.
