Password-protect a preview
Every new preview is password-protected by default. Here is how to set or change the password, and how to turn protection on or off for a preview.
It is on by default
New previews are password-protected automatically, so client work is private from the moment you upload it. You do not have to switch anything on first.
Set or change the password
- Open the preview's settings.
- Find the password field.
- Type your own memorable password, or reveal the one SiteViewer generated for you.
- Save.
Turning it on or off
- A single toggle per preview. One switch controls password protection for that preview.
- Keep it on for anything client-confidential. While protection is on, the preview asks for the password before anyone can view it.
- Turning it off makes the preview public. A public preview has no password, so anyone with the link can open it.
Tip
On Pro and Studio you can white-label the password screen with your own logo, so even the gate looks like yours.
