The ones people actually ask
If your question is not here, ask it. A person answers, usually the one who built the thing.
Your client
Does my client need an account?
No. They open the link, type their name once so replies have someone to attribute, and start commenting. There is no password to remember and no seat on your billing.
If they come back later, a one-click sign-in link gives them a portal listing every preview they are reviewing, on any device. Still no password.
Will they know they are using another company’s tool?
Mostly not, on Pro or Studio. The link is on your domain, the page they meet first carries your logo and colours, and the preview itself carries no SiteViewer badge. Two places still name us: our address is on the emails, which send as “your studio via SiteViewer” so they authenticate and do not look spoofed, and the portal a returning reviewer signs in to is ours.
Can more than one person from the client side comment?
Yes, as many as you like. They are reviewers, not users, so they never count against your seats.
What does the client actually see when they click?
Your branded page asking for the password, then the design itself. If comments are on, a small panel sits over the page with a switch between browsing and commenting.
Can I stop them seeing older versions?
Yes. Anonymous reviewers only ever see the current version. The version switcher appears once someone has identified themselves.
The link
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, from Pro. Point a subdomain such as review.yourstudio.com at us and every link goes out on your address, with the certificate issued and renewed for you.
Studio includes ten domains, so each retainer client can have their own.
Does the link change when I upload a new version?
No, and that is the point of it. Send the link once at kickoff and push as many versions as you like. The client always opens the current one, and you can roll back in a click.
Can I make a link expire?
Yes. Give it a date and it stops working then, which keeps last year’s pricing from sitting live forever. Quiet links also tidy themselves up on their own, and you get a warning a week before and again the day before.
What happens to my links if I downgrade?
They stay live. Nothing is deleted quietly behind you. Features that belong to the higher plan stop, but the work stays where your client left it.
What you can review
What can I put in it?
An HTML file or a zip, a PDF, a single image, a set of images, or a live website. Whatever your client can open, they can comment on.
Does it work on a site I built in Squarespace or Webflow?
Yes, on Studio. Paste the URL and the review layer goes over the real site, so what your client comments on is the actual page rather than a screenshot of it.
Can I review a site that is behind a password?
Yes, on Studio, and without handing that password to the client.
What about a page from Claude or another AI tool?
Drop the file in. It is hosted, gated and reviewable in about a minute, on the free plan.
How do comments work on a PDF?
The same way, in our own viewer. Pins stay on the page they belong to, so page four feedback is still on page four next week.
Can the client approve images one by one?
Yes. An image set gives them a gallery with Approve or Request changes on each one, so sign-off is a decision rather than a paragraph.
Working on the feedback
Where do comments end up?
In one list, in the room and in your dashboard, split into open and resolved. Each one carries the page, the spot on it, a screenshot from the moment they clicked, and what they were looking at it on.
Can I hand a comment to someone on my team?
Yes. Assign it and they get an email, and it lands in their own list.
Can I leave a comment my client cannot see?
Yes. Mark the thread private and it stays between you and your team, on the page and in the emails. It is the one place to write the honest reason something is not happening.
Can I get a Slack message instead of an email?
Yes, on Studio. Connect a channel and we post the moment a client comments, with a link that opens the comment itself. You approve it in Slack and pick the channel there, so it behaves like any other Slack app.
Will I get an email for every single pin?
No. Comments are gathered up and sent as one summary rather than one email per pin.
Can my AI assistant read the comments?
Yes, three ways. Turn a single comment into a prompt, copy every open comment out as plain Markdown, or connect your assistant directly so it reads the feedback and marks things resolved itself.
The connection is read-and-write but fenced: it can never rename, delete or unlock a link you have already shared with a client.
Account and billing
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Five projects with HTML, PDF and image review, password protection and one seat. No card.
What is in the trial?
Fourteen days of Studio, the top plan, so you can judge the part you would actually pay for. No card. After that the account drops to Free and your links stay live.
How do I sign in?
With a link sent to your email. There is no account password, so there is nothing to leak or reuse.
Can I add or remove seats myself?
Yes, from the billing screen, and cancelling is a button rather than an email to support.
Where is my client’s work stored?
On Cloudflare’s network. Previews are served from a different address to your dashboard, so an uploaded page can never reach your account.
