Import a website from its URL
Paste any web address and SiteViewer imports the pages and hosts a private snapshot you can share. This is separate from reviewing a live site in real time.
Snapshot or live
Importing makes a hosted copy of the pages as they are at that moment. The live-website option proxies the real site as it keeps changing. Use a snapshot when you want a fixed point to review.
How to import
- Start a new preview. Click New preview, then Import.
- Paste the site address. Enter the web address of the site you want to bring in.
- Choose how many linked pages to bring in. Pick the depth so SiteViewer knows how much of the site to capture.
- Let SiteViewer do the rest. It crawls those pages, rewrites the links so they work inside your preview, and gives you a private link.
Tip
If the site sits behind its own password, like a trial-mode site, see the guide on importing a site that needs a password.
