Getting started
Share a preview with a client
The whole point of SiteViewer is sending work as a link, not a zip attachment. Here is how to get a preview in front of a client in a couple of minutes.
The steps
- Add your work. Drag a self-contained HTML file or a .zip onto the dashboard, or paste a live URL to import. You get a private link in seconds, no build step.
- It is password-protected by default. Open the preview and find the password in its settings. Change it to something memorable, or reveal the one we generated for you.
- Send the client the link and the password. Or generate a no-password share link if you would rather they get in with one click.
- Want to be certain it was the client who opened it, not you? Create a per-recipient tracked link from the preview Overview. Then the "opened" alert is unambiguous.
- You get notified the moment they open it, so you always know who saw what and when.
Make it yours
- Put the link on your own domain. Send previews from an address your client already trusts, like your studio domain. Available on Pro and Studio.
- Turn on Review comments. Let the client pin feedback straight onto the page, so notes land exactly where they mean. Available on Studio.
- Keep the same link for new versions. Upload a fresh version and the link stays the same. The client opens the address they already have and sees your latest work.
Good to know
The link stays private until you choose otherwise. Until someone enters the password, or you send a no-password share link, the preview is closed. If a share link ever gets out, you can revoke it at any time and it stops working immediately.
That is the whole flow: add your work, set the password, send the link. The first time takes a couple of minutes; every preview after that is a drag and a send.
